Why should I join SNA?
There are many benefits of being a member of the Student Nurses' Association. Be a part of SNA and obtain leadership qualities, communication skills, and networking opportunities. Members benefit from leadership opportunities, exam preparation courses, scholarships, career information, publication discounts, and legislation representation. We strive to provide the information, resources, and opportunities needed to empower nursing and pre-nursing students as future professionals.

What does SNA do?
The Student Nurses' Association works diligently to make a difference in our school and community. Each year, we sponsor and facilitate projects on the UAB campus, within our community, and internationally. Some of our events include resume workshops, mock interviews, NCLEX reviews, and various fundraisers. Our efforts allow us to be of service to others, as well as make a difference in the lives of others. Additionally, SNA helps with many School of Nursing events, including Homecoming each year. We also reach out to students who are thinking of attending the School of Nursing or who have just been accepted into the School of Nursing program. SNA Representatives attend orientations and seminars throughout the school year to answer any questions students may have about the nursing program and SNA.
SNA General Meetings
Each semester, SNA hosts a general meeting for pre-nursing and nursing students. At our meetings, the SNA brings in a variety of individuals that students can benefit from. During a typical SNA meeting, we recruit different nursing professionals (Nurse Practitioners, Critical Care Nurses, Nurse Anesthetists, etc.) to speak about their profession. All pre-nursing and nursing students will receive an invitation to the SNA Meetings via email from Mrs. Stephanie Hamberger. Please keep a look out for our emails and updates!
What is the cost to join SNA and what does that money go towards?
The cost is $45 for new members and $45 to renew a membership. This fee allows you to be a member of the UAB Nursing Chapter, Alabama State Chapter, and National Chapter. The money is used to help fund SNA projects as well as to send Delegates to represent UAB School of Nursing to State and National Conferences.

How can I join SNA?
It's easy! All you have to do is fill out an application/membership form and bring a check or cash money of $45 to Student Affairs on the first floor of the Nursing Building. The form can be found on the School of Nursing website on the SNA page (uab.edu/nursing/home/sna) and on our BSync page (uab.edu/bsync).
