In 2010 the School of Nursing accepted its first Return Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCV's), Erin Gockel and Katie Rozofsky (pictured below with Dr. Lynda Wilson and Rustin Johnson).  The School of Nursing is privileged to have them as they have learned much from their Peace Corps experiences which enriches our nursing programs and will enrich our profession!  Katie, who is in the AMNP program,  completed her Peace Corps service in Surinam in 2008 and Erin, who is in the BSN program,  completed her's in Azerbaijan in 2008.  They both shared their Peace Corps experiences and how it now applies to nursing during an outstanding presentation on April 13, 2011 in the UAB Center for Nursing Research.  To see Erin's presentation click here, and to see Katie's presentation, click here.
