Fellowships

LECHN—Leadership Education in Child-Health Nursing, UAB School of Nursing

(Applies to PhD students)

The purpose of the program, University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Leadership Education in Child-Health Nursing (LECHN) Program: Building Capacity and Leadership in Child-Health Nursing, is to improve the health status of children and families, particularly those in the southeastern region of the US by building capacity and leadership in CHN faculty.

Traineeships


Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need (GAANN)

(Applies to PhD students)

The GAANN financial award is to prepare nurse scholars from traditionally underrepresented groups in the state of Alabama at the PhD level for careers in educational leadership, research and scholarship.

NIH Traineeship Grant

(Applies primarily to MSN or DNP students)

Grants are awarded to eligible institutions to provide financial support through traineeships for registered nurses enrolled in advanced education nursing programs to prepare nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, nurse administrators, nurse educators, and nurses in other specialties requiring advanced education.
