Electrical Safety Management
SYSE 500: INTRODUCTION TO ELECTRICAL SAFETY MANAGEMENTThis course will use ANSI Z10-2012, Occupational Safety & Health Managing Systems (aligned with OHSAS 18001 and CSA Z1000) as the framework for benchmarking existing programs and for designing and implementing a state of the art electrical safety program. It will incorporate the requirements of NFPA7OE-2012, Standard for Workplace Electrical Safety (harmonized with CSA Z462) and other recognized industry standards to achieve a comprehensive program based on proven safety management principles. The participant will be provided the knowledge and tools to assess existing programs, identify improvement opportunities, and develop implementation plans.
This is a four-week, instructor led, totally online course. Activities include direct instructor interface, learning modules, discussion board participation, and learning assessment.
Final grade is based 30% on discussion board participation and 70% on assessment (quiz.) A minimum of 70/100 points must be achieved to successfully complete the course and be awarded a Certificate of Completion.
