5th Avenue Intersection Affected By Storm Drain Work

Beginning on Monday, February 21, 2011, underground storm drainage work will be performed at the intersection of 17th Street and 5th Ave. S associated with the new Children’s Hospital.  The intersection will not be closed, but traffic will be restricted passing through the intersection on both 5th Ave. S and 17th Street. The storm water drain work will be excavated diagonally across the intersection from southwest to northeast. The Children’s Hospital Contractor will have personnel at the intersection directing traffic, but there will be traffic back ups due to the lane restrictions. This work will take approximately two weeks to complete.  It is suggested that this intersection be avoided if possible during this time frame.
