Steam Plant

February 2012

Construction activity on the Steam project is scheduled to begin December 19, 2011 thru February 2012, on 7^th Avenue South behind the Hill University Center. Although the sidewalk will remain open to pedestrian traffic, parking in Lot 19 will be affected.

February 28, 2012

Effective November 10, 2011 thru February 28, 2012, Lot 3 (Rust Building) will be closed. Employees that have a parking assignment/access card for Lot 3 will be able to park in 19^th Street Deck during this time.

 Mid-March 2012

Beginning Monday, January 23, 2012, 7th Avenue South will be closed to thru traffic and on-street parking between University Boulevard and 7^thAvenue South. Access to Parking Lot 5A will be via a newly provided entry point immediately off University onto 15^th Street South. Exit point from Lot 5A will be on the eastern side of the lot on to 16^th Street South.

Beginning January 23, 2012, for 2 months, 7^th Avenue South will be reduced down to two (2) lanes (east & west) and on-street parking in that area between 14^th and 15^th Streets is to be eliminated during the construction activities.

Beginning February 13, 2012 thru approximately April 9, 2012, 19^th Street, between University Blvd and 9^th Ave S, will be closed to thru traffic and on-street parking. Local accessibility will be affected as follows:
19^th Street Parking Deck: Entry will only be from 9^th Ave S. Exiting traffic will be rerouted to 9th Ave S.
University Blvd: Exiting traffic will be routed to University Blvd.
BB&T Banking: Access to the bank's drive-thru will be from 9^th Ave S.
