Dr. Berland is Professor and Vice-Chairman for Planning and Administration
and Director of Outpatient Radiology in the Department of Radiology.
He is the author or coauthor of over sixty-five articles, sixteen
chapters, and one book. His primary research interests have been
in the technical aspects of body computer tomography, liver CT,
contrast-enhancement for CT, and Doppler Ultrasound. Dr. Berland
has also recently initiated a CT Screening Center at UAB that includes
a CT Colonography service. He also currently serves as the Vice-President
Elect of the Society for Computer Body Tomography/Magnetic Resonance.
