| Semiconductor lasers feature narrow amplification bandwidth which limits their application in spectroscopy. We are trying to solve this problem by making them lase on the impurity transitions rather than on transitions between the conduction and valence bands. We propose electrically pumped Cr and Fe doped ZnSe quantum dot broadly tunable middle-infrared lasers. |
