The purpose of effort reporting is to comply with federal government mandates to ensure the proper charging of labor costs to federally and non-federally sponsored activities at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). This includes salaries, wages, and benefits.

This procedure delegates responsibilities of the Investigator, OIRB and IRB for ensuring prompt reporting of unanticipated problems encountered in research.

This policy sets forth UAB’s commitment to creating a secure environment for children and establishes principles by which all University representatives should guide their behavior when interacting with children and reporting suspicions of abuse or neglect.

This policy describes the IRB's obligation to report certain determinations to UAB officials, regulatory and other federal regulatory agencies, and sponsors.
