This policy implements the provisions of the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 for faculty members and for administrative, professional, and support staff of the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

This policy details the circumstances under which UAB employees are eligible for leave with out pay. Those instances include family and medical leave, educational leave, personal leave, and active military service.

This policy details eligibility and accrual rates for sick time and other specifications related to this specific employee benefit.

Under certain circumstances, a UAB employee may voluntarily donate to another UAB employee, or receive from another employee, accrued sick time under a sick time donation plan as described in this policy.

This policy describes accrual reports for vacation, sick time and holidays which are made availble to departments each pay period.
