All fund-raising efforts for the university must receive prior approval from the appropriate administrative unit. Employees who participate in purchasing decisions are prohibited from accepting personal gifts.

All UAB activities are subject to audit. This policy explains the function of Office of Internal Audit and describes the standards by which UAB audits are to be conducted.

When an employee retires from UAB, the employee/employer relationship between the employee and UAB is severed. On rare occasions, it may be in the best interest of UAB to allow the retiree to return to UAB's employ on a part-time basis.
