3.8 Equal Opportunity and Disciminatory Harassment Policy

The University of Alabama at Birmingham is firmly committed to providing an environment that is free of discrimination, including sexual harassment. UAB prohibits all forms of sexual harassment and will investigate complaints thoroughly and with the utmost seriousness. Refer to Equal Opportunity and Discriminatory Harassment Policy.
 
Faculty members should be familiar with the Policy Concerning Consensual Romantic Relationships.
 
In addition to the policies and procedures stated in the Equal Opportunity and DiscriminatoryHarassment Policy, specific procedures have been put in place to investigate claims of sexual harassment made by students against faculty. A student who believes that he or she has been sexually harassed should report the incident promptly to the Vice President for Student Affairs. Refer to the Student Violence and Sexual Misconduct Policy.
