POLICY STATEMENT
THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA AT BIRMINGHAM
DIVISION OF STUDENT AFFAIRS
Subject: Program Allocation Board (PAB) Meeting Policies

- The PAB will meet during late spring semester of each year to recommend funding for programs for the next academic year.
- Additional meetings will be scheduled as necessary. Agenda items should be forwarded to the Chairperson of the PAB at least seven days prior to each scheduled meeting date.
- All PAB meetings will be open. Participation in the PAB's deliberations and decision-making will be restricted to board members. At the discretion of the chairperson, a meeting may be closed should there be a need to consider any information that may have a negative effect upon individuals or programs.
- At the discretion of the PAB, a vote on a funding proposal may be by open ballot.
- A quorum shall be declared when there are four (4) students and two (2) student affairs officers present.
- The Chairperson of the PAB shall vote only in the case of a tie.
- Voting will be restricted to those PAB members present. An absent member may submit written comments for the PAB's consideration.
- During the term of appointment, two unexcused absences will result in a PAB member's seat being declared vacant.
