Policy Number: SA VII-501F
Policy Date: 8/23/11
POLICY STATEMENT
THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA AT BIRMINGHAM
DIVISION OF STUDENT AFFAIRS
Subject: University Programming Council
Source: Office of Student Life
- The University Programming Council exists as a means to facilitate cooperative program planning among, and between the program committees established by the PAB, to provide a forum for information exchanges, to create a mechanism for sharing resources, and to assist in planning programs that are responsive to the interests of a multicultural student body.
- The Council shall be comprised of the chairpersons of each PAB Program Committee. Given the fact that some committees are inactive for a large portion of the academic year, the staff adviser may represent the interests of that committee on the Council. Representatives of other student organizations/programming bodies will be invited to attend Council meetings as appropriate.
- The Council shall be chaired by the Assistant Director of Student Involvement or designate.
- The Council shall hold, at a minimum, one meeting each month to discuss issues at hand. This shall normally be near the beginning of the term so as to inform groups about activities scheduled for that term.
- The Council shall be responsible for periodically surveying the UAB student body to determine the impact of PAB programs/activities.
- The Council will establish guidelines for evaluating sponsored programs and activities.
