POLICY STATEMENT
THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA AT BIRMINGHAM
DIVISION OF STUDENT AFFAIRS

Subject: Miss UAB Scholarship Recipient Policy

As shown in item 7 below, available Miss UAB Scholarships will be awarded to UAB students currently enrolled and in good academic standing who win or place in the "Miss UAB Pageant”.
Scholarship recipients should claim awards in the term immediately following the pageant. Miss UAB’s scholarship will be split over the next two terms of enrollment.
If the scholarship is for more than one term, the recipient must maintain a GPA of 2.0 to remain eligible.
It is not necessary to use scholarship awards in sequential terms, but the utilization of scholarship monies must be completed within one calendar year of the pageant.
Scholarships can be applied toward tuition or non-credit classes at UAB to enhance the student's talent.
No cash money will be awarded. Awarded scholarships will be forfeited if not used within the stipulated time period.
