The selection of the successful applicant is the responsibility of the hiring department. The department should notify the recruiter as soon as a decision has been made, but before an offer has been extended. The recruiter will verify whether the hiring process has been appropriately followed and completed.
It is the responsibility of the hiring department to notify applicants who were interviewed by them but not selected. Notification should be made promptly after a job offer has been accepted.
Recruiters may notify other unsuccessful applicants who applied for a specific position but were not interviewed by the hiring manager. This communication will be via email.
Offers of Employment - University
When a hiring decision is made, the recruiter should be contacted immediately, before an offer is extended so that the entire process can be reviewed and approved in accordance with University's Hiring Approval Policy 101 and federal regulations.
The official offer of employment or authorization to extend an offer is made by the Office of Human Resources. After the offer has been accepted, a Confirmation of Appointment or Transfer Letter will be generated by the Office of Human Resources. The original confirmation letter will be mailed directly to the new hire and a copy sent to HR Records.
Offers of Employment – UAB Hospital
When a hiring decision is made, the recruiter should be contacted immediately. The official offer of employment is made by the recruiter. After the offer has been accepted, a Confirmation of Employment will be emailed to the hiring department.
