Policy 624 – Service Awards

Date Issued: 10/80
Date Revised: 06/09

All part-time and full-time regular employees are presented service awards at the completion of five years of continuous service and every five years thereafter.

Awards to non-hospital employees for 5, 10, and 15 years of service are presented by their supervisors or department heads in their departments. Employees receiving awards for 20 or more years of service receive special recognition at an awards ceremony.  A reception is also held to honor everyone receiving awards. The presentation usually takes place in February for those having completed the required years of service by December 31 of the preceding year.

Hospital employees are presented their service awards during National Hospital Week in May each year. Awards to employees for 5, 10, and 15 years of service are presented by their supervisors or department heads in their departments. Hospital employees having completed twenty years of service by December 31 of the preceding year are honored with a banquet and the presentation of pins.

The University uses this opportunity to express appreciation to employees for loyal, dedicated service.
