Dr. Kojima is an accomplished analytical biochemist, and microbiologist who is trained to run all of the analytical instruments in the lab. She prepares samples and carries out global and targeted quantitative nano-LC-ESI-mass spectrometry-based analyses. She also runs and manages the MALDI-TOF/TOF-MS instrument, develops new methodologies to increase sample throughput and sensitivity, and improves enrichment/ extraction efficiencies of proteins from complex biological samples. Dr. Kojima also provides expertise and in bioinformatics, and is proficient at utilizing software packages that include Scaffold (PTM/ Q+S), and pathway analysis licenses to GeneGo (Metacore), and IPA (Inginuity). She performs systems analyses obtained from complex biological samples to define disease or treatment specific pathway profiles.
