Farley is new Director of Academic and Student Services Operations

The Office of the Provost is pleased to announce the appointment of Carolyn E. Farley as Director of Academic and Student Services Operations, effective June 1. In this new position, Farley will direct strategic planning and logistics for campus-wide student support services and oversee operations of the Hill University Student Center, Campus Recreation Center, Campus Dining, and Residence Life. She will also play a key role in leading the renovation and expansion of Hill University Center.

The Office of the Provost is pleased to announce the appointment of Carolyn E. Farley as Director of Academic and Student Services Operations, effective June 1. In this new position, Farley will direct strategic planning and logistics for campus-wide student support services and oversee operations of the Hill University Student Center, Campus Recreation Center, Campus Dining, and Residence Life. She will also play a key role in leading the renovation and expansion of Hill University Center.

Farley comes to UAB after almost 14 years at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), where she has been serving as executive director of Campus Life since fall 2007. Prior to her current appointment, she was director of the UNCW University Union for 10 years. During her time at UNCW, she supervised a wide range of student life and facility operations and coordinated program planning through construction of a $43 million student center project. She is currently responsible for overseeing 200,000 square-feet of student service facilities space. Prior to her time at UNCW, Farley held various student affairs positions at Virginia Commonwealth University.
