Harlan Sands, Vice Provost for Administration and Quality Improvement, outlined general plans for the renovation and expansion of Hill University Center at a meeting of Office of the Provost staff on April 22, 2011. Sands noted that these plans will provide a "showcase building" that will feature enhanced student spaces, upgraded dining and meeting areas, and a new visitors center.  All rooms will be full-service, multipurpose spaces with enhanced technology.

The Hill University Center will also house a "one-stop shop" for student support and advising that will centralize key student services, streamline processes, and allow for greater customer service for the UAB community.
