UAB Homecoming in October 1994UAB used to celebrate homecoming during basketball season, but that all changed in October 1994. After UAB joined National Collegiate Athletic Association in 1991, festivities were moved to the fall to partner with football season.
Homecoming continues to be a tradition on campus: This year is themed “Blazers in the Magic City” and will feature popular annual events such as the Gurney Derby and the Homecoming Parade, plus community-focused activities such as the Blazer Spirit Campus Cleanup and the Blazer Bolt for Brain Cancer.
