We are looking for black or African American men ages 16-29 to participate in a confidential sexual health survey regarding HIV prevention services. To qualify, you must be HIV-negative, male who has sex with other males and English speaking. You will be compensated up to $80 for your participation. Researchers at UAB are looking for men and women age 18-45 to take part in a new research study. The purpose of the study is to test the safety and acceptability of a new rectal gel, which is being developed to protect against HIV infection during anal sex. If you are HIV negative and have had anal sex at least once in the past year, you may be eligible to participate. The study involves 16 visits over a period of about 6 weeks. During this time, you will insert the gel, rectally, a total of 8 times. Rectal biopsies will be collected at 5 of the visits. Physical exams and HIV/STI testing will be provided at no cost, and you will be compensated up to $1375 for your time. For more information, call (205) 996-4405.
