Take this quick questionnaire to see if you may be at risk for developing heart disease, and receive a risk profile and action plan tailored specifically to you. You can also get free health screenings during UAB’s Step Up to Wellness Fair Feb. 21 or Green Screens in the North Pavilion Atrium Feb. 28.
2) Lip smackin’ goodness

3) Be a quitter
When you stop smoking, you lower your risk of developing heart failure, heart attacks and strokes. UAB employees can get prescription tobacco-cessation products with no co-pay, and free Beat the Pack classes and counseling are here to help.
Every bit of exercise helps heart health. Use UAB’s indoor walking trails or join in a free fitness workout 5:15-6:15 p.m. Feb. 18 and 25 in the West Pavilion Atrium. Or you can test run a Campus Rec membership with a day pass for $8.
4) Move a little closer
5) Walk with me
The American Heart Association’s Birmingham Heart Walk will be held Saturday, June 28. Funds raised by Team UAB help support our vital cardiovascular research. For more information visit the Birmingham Heart Walk Website.
