Volunteer each Tuesday in June from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at The Greater Birmingham Humane Society. Meet in Rec Center Lobby at 2 p.m. to carpool to site.

Receptions for opening of three exhibits of Indian art, Japanese prints and solo artist Leslie Wayne in the Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts 5-7:30 p.m.
June 6 Get away in the outdoors
Spend your weekend biking and boating in North Carolina with UAB Outdoor Pursuits June 6-8. Bike one of the top single-track trails in the country through beautiful forests and paddle the thrilling whitewater of the Nantahala River. Bikes and boats are included in the cost. Pre-trip meeting is June 3.
June 7 Who will be Miss Alabama?
Will it be Miss UAB, Chassidy Sumler? Talent, eveningwear and swimsuit competitions are Wednesday-Friday. The final night of competition is Saturday.
