The annual Gem, Mineral & Jewelry Show returns to Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park 9 a.m.-5 p.m. See and buy gems, minerals, fossils and jewelry from collectors and sellers. Enjoy demos, exhibits, children's activities and door prizes. Admission to the park is $3 for adults and $1 for children; there is no fee for the show.

No recycling where you live? Drop off items at UAB’s Recycling Center on the way to work. The center is open 6:30-8:30 a.m. and 4-6 p.m. Mondays. Celebrate the vibrant, festive spirit of the Caribbean 11 a.m.-8 p.m. in Linn Park. Music, food, vendors, dancing and lots of island spirit are everywhere to be seen and shared. Come early and stay late for the street dance. Presented by Central Alabama Caribbean American Organization, led by UAB’s own Pauline Ford. A mini carnival in Regions Field June 13 before the Birmingham Baron’s game.
