Feldman wins prize for his chronicle of the South's shift to a red state

feldmanGlen Feldman, Ph.D., professor of history, received the Anne B. and James B. McMillan Book Prize for his work, "The Irony of the Solid South: Democrats, Republicans, and Race, 1865-1944," which examines the South’s transition to a majority Republican region from its Democratic roots.

The Faculty Editorial Board of The University of Alabama Press awards the prize annually to the manuscript chosen as Most Deserving in Alabama or Southern History or Culture.
