Researchers at UAB are conducting an exciting study in adolescents to investigate how diet quality influences body composition, quality of life, and other outcomes related to fatty liver disease. Overweight/obese children ages 10-17 who have elevated liver enzymes may be eligible to participate. Participation involves attending study visits, completing several assessments, and taking part in a nutrition program for 2 months. Is your child ages 8-17? We are recruiting children to be in a research study at the UAB Clinical Eye Research Facility to collect information about the rate of eye dryness in a pediatric population and improve screening efforts for eye exams for children. Minimum eligibility requirements: • Must be ages 8-17 • Must be willing to come in for one study visit lasting approximately one hour.
