The UWIRC program was first funded in FY1996-7 with a total of just under $2.5M dollars supporting ten “full” centers and 7 “pilot” centers.  In FY2011-2, twenty-eight centers (23 “full” and 5 “pilot”) received just over $5.0M,  $3.7M from the UWIRC fund and $1.3M from support provided by the various schools/college.
