Login to the Animal Bioware Web Portal.

The ARP has made it a priority to provide the investigator and lab personnel with the most accurate information and instructions on the Bioware web pages contained within the Animal Bioware link.  Please take the time to review the detailed information and instructions on the following web pages relating to your particular Bioware topic.  Please email arpbioware@uab.edu for clarification relating to information or instructions provided, or with any questions/suggestions/concerns.

IMPORTANT: FIRST TIME USERS FOR ANIMAL BIOWARE WEB PORTAL

Login and Password Information is Necessary to Access the Bioware Web Portal

For added security, we have switched to using blazer ID for your login ID and an initial dummy password which can be changed on your first time into Bioware.  Please contact us if you have never logged into Bioware before and supply us with the information below so we can get you using Bioware quickly.
If you have forgotten your password and are using your Blazer ID for access, please contact us and we can rest the password.
If you are an experienced user and are still using your first initial and last name for your login, we will be phasing those users to Blazer ID as we continue to update the database and work with those users.
To assist us in granting your permissions and/or adding your name as a user, please email arpbioware@uab.edu with the following information. Please note that we are not requiring an email directly from the investigator, but we do ask that the investigator(s) involved with your request are copied on your request.  Also, we now require a 24 hour emergency contact information for the investigator and main lab contact(s).
  1. Full name and blazer id (e.g. Tim Crutchfield/timman)
  2. Your dept/division (e.g. Animal Resources)
  3. The investigator names and protocols (APN's) for which
    you need access
  4. Your role in using the protocol (billing contact, animal
ordering contact or lab contact). Please note there can be only one billing contact per investigator.
  5. 24 hour emergency contact information for the investigator and main lab contact(s).
  6. Optional: any additional contact information (phone, fax,
building, room, manager/supervisor) that you wish to add to contact information in Bioware.
A 24 hour emergency contact phone number is required and should not be a lab number; it should be a home or cell phone number.  Access to this number is limited to ARP veterinary staff.  You will only be contacted in emergency situations pertaining to the health of your animal(s) so an appropriate decision can be made regarding the animal's health.  Providing a 24 hour emergency contact number in Bioware means you won't have to post this information in the animal room where many more people will have access to it.
If you have any trouble accessing the website, please contact us at arpbioware@uab.edu

Background
The Animal Resources Program (UAB) Billing and Procurement Office has implemented a database system, Animal Bioware, as part of ongoing efforts to improve services to investigators and their staff.  This system replaces and enhances our processes for ordering animals, cage census, card printing, billing, history requests, and electronic modification and submission of necessary changes to orders and billing items via an interactive web portal.

Web portal Training
If you wish to receive web portal training, please email arpbioware@uab.edu.  We will be more than happy to conduct a specific training session, whether it be a small group or one on one here at RSB or in your lab or office.
