Description: The Community College National Center for Community Engagement wishes to celebrate outstanding campus-based service-learning and civic engagement programs that have developed partnerships outside their institutions. The Center seeks nominations for the following awards: Collaborations with Social Agencies, with Business and Industry, with K-12 Schools, with Universities, and International Service Learning.

2) OJJDP FY 09 National Mentoring Program
Application Deadline: February 25, 2009
Description: The goal of this 3-year grant program is to reduce juvenile delinquency, drug abuse, truancy, and other problem and high-risk behaviors. The objective of this program is to provide direct one-on-one or group mentoring services to underserved youth populations.

3) Carter-Kellogg Scholarship
presented by Stetson University
Amount: $500
Deadline: Rolling with winners being selected monthly. To be included in the February competition, submissions must be completed by February 20.
Description: Full-time college students who have completed or implemented service-learning projects are eligible to compete for $500 scholarships. To apply, students should describe their project activities and results, and a critical reflection on what they learned. Students must be able to articulate clearly the role that academics played in their project and the effects the project has had on the community.

4) Jimmy & Rosalyn Carter Parnership Foundation
CASE Grant
Amount: $1,000
Description: Each month JRCPF offers a $1000 CASE grant through our ServiceBook Monthly award. Students wishing to be considered for this award can apply via www.ServiceBook.org. As with our other CASE awards, students must register, log in, then follow the links: Students>Submit Your Project. Within the application, students must be sure to select "ServiceBook Monthly" under the "CASE Competition" drop-down list.

5) Do Something Offers Grants for Community Action Projects

Amount: 52 $500 grants
Description: Do Something will award one $500 grant each week to help young people implement or expand a community action project, program, or organization. Applicants must be no older than 25 and a U.S. or Canadian citizen.

6) Jenzabar Foundation Calls for Nominations for Higher Education Student Leadership Awards

7) Manhattan Institute Invites Nominations for Social Entrepreneurship Award
Deadline: March 20, 2009
Amount: Up to five $25,000 awards and one $100,000 grand prize
Description: Any nonprofit organization or leader that provides a direct, privately funded service within the U.S. to address a public problem can be nominated. Nominations can be submitted by anyone familiar with a person or group's activities except a current employee.

8) Kohl's Kids Who Care Scholarship to Recognize Young Volunteers
Deadline: March 15, 2009
Description: Kohl's plans to award over $350,000 in scholarships and prizes to over 2,000 volunteers between the ages of 6 and 18 who have made remarkable impacts on their communities. Each child must be nominated by someone 21 or older, and parents may nominate their own children.
