Service Learning Lunchtime Discussion Series - Friday, September 12th - 11:45am - 1pm Heritage Hall 524

Join us for lunch and a casual conversation with members of the inaugural class of UAB Faculty Fellows in Service Learning. In a panel discussion format, they will share their service learning course experiences and how the fellowship enhanced their service learning scholarship. We'll also have plenty of time for you to ask questions. This session is great for community partners, faculty and staff members teaching a service learning course or interested in teaching a community engaged course, or students serving as teaching assistants for service learning courses.

Join us for lunch and a conversation with Mr. Mark Farris, Director for the Center for a New Generation (CNG), the A.G. Gaston Boys and Girls Club's new after-school academic and arts enrichment program set to launch at Hayes K-8 School this month. CNG is a tuition-free after school / summer school academic and arts enrichment program providing fun, interactive, rigorous learning opportunities and ongoing support for 1st through 5th grade students at Hayes K-8 School. It is a partnership between A.G. Gaston Boys and Girls Club and the Birmingham City School System.

Faculty Fellows in Service Learning - Year End Celebration and Symposium - April 14, 2014
Join us as we recognize faculty members of the inagural Faculty Fellows in Service Learning on Monday, April 14th from 3pm - 4pm at the Abroms Engel Institute for the Visual Arts. Over the past academic year, these 11 faculty members have learned the best practices of community engaged scholarship and have integrated community-based projects into their courses. All are welcome.
