Campaign Co-Chair Testimonial: Mike Williams
As I reflect on the 30-plus years since I received a master’s degree from the hospital and health administration program in the School of Health Professions, I am reminded that any success I have experienced has been built on the foundation of my experience at the school and the personal relationships that began during my days on campus.
Alumnus Testimonial: Jim Burkhart, D.Sc.
Jim Burkhart is a graduate of the Masters in Hospital and Health Administration program (1979) and currently enrolled in the executive doctorate program in Health Administration at UAB. He has been actively involved in the alumni association and am very supportive of our great institution. Over the years, he has witnessed the continued growth of the School of Health Professions and the emergence of its health administration program to a U.S. News and World Report top five ranking.
Student Testimonial: Marion Haase, Ph.D.
Music has always been the common theme in my life so it was no surprise to anyone when I became a board-certified Neurologic Music Therapist. It was during my research for my master’s degree when I began corresponding with UAB Physical Therapy faculty member Matt Ford, PT, Ph.D., whose research involves the use of music for individuals with Parkinson’s disease.
Campaign Co-Chair Testimonial: Jon Vice
The Master’s of Science in Health Administration program helped lay the foundation of my 38-year career in pediatric administration. Since I graduated from the program (Class 7), I continue to stay involved by being a preceptor, chairing the 25th Anniversary Endowment Campaign and consistently making financial contributions. I see this as an investment in my degree as the program continues to grow and is now ranked fifth by U.S. News & World Report.
Faculty Testimonial: Matt Ford, Ph.D.
It’s been 12 years since I began my career at UAB in the Department of Physical Therapy. I arrived when we first moved into the SHP building on December 2001. Its growth has been tremendous since then. The SHP research programs and collaborations have increased significantly over the last decade.
