|Dr. Carol Robbins currently serves as the Biotechnology Program’s Laboratory Teacher. Prior to her current position, Dr. Robbins was part of the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program at Vanderbilt University where she received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry. As part of her dissertation research, Dr. Robbins utilized functional genomic approaches to identify a new component of the cellular response to DNA damage. In addition to her research, Dr. Robbins trained new students in the molecular biology and biochemistry laboratory techniques needed for the successful completion of research in those fields.
Prior to receiving her Ph.D., Dr. Robbins completed her undergraduate studies in Molecular Biology at Auburn University. During her time at Auburn, she was afforded the opportunity to teach alongside graduate students leading an Organismal Biology lab. This ignited an early interest in her for teaching in the laboratory setting.
