Student Organizations

Student Organizations

The Student Society of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (SSAAPA)
provides PA students with a chance to interact with other students who have the same interests. These interactions can serve many purposes, such as helping to meet other students in a social atmosphere; working to educate others about the PA profession; improving the community with projects the society implements; or enhancing one’s own leadership skills. The student society provides a way to get involved with peers, the PA profession, and the community.

Respiratory Therapy Student Association (RTSA)
The Respiratory Therapy Program has a Respiratory Therapy Student Association that is recognized by UAB as an official Student Organization.  Announcements will be made during the year about meeting dates, meeting times, membership dues, activities, and fundraising activities.

Clinical Laboratory Scientist Student Association (CLSSA)
CLSSA provides student input and represents student interests to faculty and administration regarding student needs or concerns related to the MT or CLS program and/or the field of Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
