Clinical Laboratory Sciences, M.S.C.L.S.
There is a need for medical technologists/clincal laboratory scientists in a variety of areas including chemistry, microbiology, hematology and laboratory management.
Graduates may obtain employment as cytotechnologists that work closely with pathologists to microscopically evaluate cell samples to prevent, detect, and manage diseases. In 4 semesters, graduates are prepared for an expanded scope of practice by obtaining advanced training in ancillary diagnostic testing, lab management, and applied research. Students obtain certification in all new technologies currently used in the cytology laboratory.
Genetic Counseling, M.S.
Only program in Alabama, genetic counselors help people understand and adapt to the medical, psychological and familial implications of genetic contributions to disease.
Physician Assistant, M.S.P.A.S.
A physician assistant is qualified to assist a Physician in all aspects of patient care.
