Corey Lovelace, a Master of Science in Health Administration student, was a winning member of UAB’s Green and Gold Fund which won the 2012 Alternative Investment Style national championship at R.I.S.E. XII Forum in Dayton, Ohio. This marks back-to-back national titles for the student managed investment portfolio. The R.I.S.E. Forum is the largest national collegiate portfolio competition in the country.
Lovelace is a first year student in the MSHA/MBA program. He served as a portfolio manager on the project. The fund is valued at approximately $525,000 surpassing their goal of $500,000. The fund also outperformed the Standard and Poor 500. The UAB Green and Gold Fund also took second place in the Balanced Portfolio category.
