Morgan places second in honors research day

Darius Morgan and Bridgett Alday presentDarius Morgan, a Health Information Management student, won second place in the Eleventh Annual University of Alabama Systems Honors Research Day in Tuscaloosa on March 13, 2012. He was one of nine presenters in his session.

Morgan’s poster was titled, “Are we ready for transitioning to ICD-10 coding in Alabama hospitals?” His mentor was Shannon Houser, Ph.D., an associate professor in the Health Information Management program.

Bridgett Alday, a student in the Health Care Management program, also put on an oral presentation on “VA mental health screening practices.” She was mentored by M. Paige Powell, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the Health Care Management program.

Both students are members of the School of Health Profession Honors Program. The two undergraduate programs are housed in the Department of Health Services Administration in the School of Health Professions.
