Landry, a member of the HCM Division since 2004, previously served as chair of the Division’s Teaching Committee and as an Academic-At-Large.

“Any of the people that have mentored me or collaborated with me throughout my career have served the division in some capacity,” said Landry. “I feel like it is my responsibility in the line of succession to serve others and I am happy to do so – I consider it a rite of passage.”

"This election reflects the trust that members of the Health Care Management Division of the Academy of Management have in her leadership responsibilities," said S. Robert Hernandez, interim-chair of the HSA department and a former PDW Chair.

This year, Landry will coordinate the professional development workshops which go on prior to the annual Academy of Management conference. In year two, she will be in charge of the academic programs where she will coordinate reviews for papers and the selection of papers and awards.

Landry extends the tradition of UAB School of Health Professions faculty members serving as PDW Chair. She joins current faculty members Stephen J. O’Connor, Ph.D., Robert Weech-Maldonado, Ph.D. and Hernandez plus former faculty Myron Fottler, Ph.D., and Cynthia Carter Haddock, Ph.D. The HSA department’s incoming chair, Christy Lemak, Ph.D., also served as PDW Chair in 2007.
