Oral diseases can have an impact on the health of all ages from babies in the womb to the elderly fighting tooth decay due to simple things such as their medicine. But oral health is often missed especially if patients do not routinely visit a dentist and instead rely on primary care providers. The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) created a documentary to promote oral health in primary care facilities and prominently featured several UAB faculty members including our own Physician Assistant Program Director Pat Jennings,DrPh, PA-C, faculty member Kara Caruthers, MSPAS, PA-C, along with UAB Dentist Jeff Hill and UAB patient Chris Cantrell.
