The UAB Nuclear Medicine Technology Alumni Association Chapter is hosting its Third Annual Alumni and fundraiser event benefitting the Michael A. Thompson Scholarship Fund on Thursday, Oct. 11 from 5:30 – 8 p.m. in the Green & Gold Room at Bartow Arena. The chapter is also teaming up with the Alabama Society of Nuclear Medicine to offer continuing education credits.
The scholarship is in memoriam of Michael A. Thompson, professor of medical physics for 27 years at the UAB School of Health Professions. He retired as Professor Emeritus in 2007 from the NMT program after suffering from Parkinson disease. He suddenly passed away in January 2009 at the age of 59.
Attendees can earn two VOICE credits during the dinner. The presentations include:
- “Gastric Emptying Study – The Essentials and Alternatives,” Dr. Pradeep G. Bhambhvani
- “G.I. Bleeding Scan,” Dr. Jon A. Baldwin
