UAB School of Health Professions Current News

The UAB School of Health Professions ended 2012 homecoming week with several awards in hand. The SHP Office of Student Success won "Best Blazer Village." The SHP Dean's Office won "Most Creative Float" while Department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences won "Best Use of Theme" Award for their float. The school came in third for building decorations. The Respiratory Therapy Seniors won the parade float and Nuclear Medicine Technology program won second. The RT seniors also placed second for overall spirit competition with NMT placing third.
Three School of Health Professions students were recognized at the UAB National Alumni Society 2012 Scholarship Reception on Oct. 2, 2012. Jessica Hartline and Kathleen West were recipients of the School of Health Professions Dean's Scholarship. Hartline is a student in the Nuclear Medicine Technology program, and West is a student in the master's in Nutrition Sciences.
Noelle Cheeks, a student in the Health Care Management program, was also recognized for being chosen as a Ms. UAB First Alternate
Facebook page to see photos from homecoming week.The Physician Assistant team, "Jennings' Bowtie Bandits," kicked off Homecoming week for SHP with a win in the 2012 Gurney Derby race. Take a look at the winning team of Megan Wilderotter, Trenton Butler, Michael Berke and Laci Helmhout. Our other team, "The Cuddly Kittens," also did a great job representing the Physician Assistant program. That team consisted of Courtney Smith, Nolan Renner, Joshua Leek and Katie Privett. Go to our
