"The nominating committee plays a critical role in identifying and fostering leaders of our association,” said Graham. “I am honored to be elected to this position and it is a privilege to be charged with this responsibility."
The APTA represents more than 85,000 member physical therapists (PTs), physical therapist assistants (PTAs), and students of physical therapy. Graham, who is certificate coordinator for the School of Health Professions' Health Focused Patient/Client Management for Physical and Occupational Therapists program, was one of only two elected at this week’s annual APTA Conference and Exposition. She will serve a three year term beginning Wednesday, June 26, 2013.
The nominating committee is responsible for promoting leadership development and recruiting qualified candidates for APTA national leadership positions. The APTA seeks to improve the health and quality of life of individuals in society by advancing physical therapist practice, education, and research, and by increasing the awareness and understanding of physical therapy's role in the nation's health care system.
