The UAB Benevolent Fund awarded the School of Health Professions (SHP) the Super Hero Award for the second time in the award’s five-year history. The award, presented to an area with a strong campaign year after year, recognized the SHP for having 75 percent of employees donate to the fund with 65 percent of employees being continuous donors.
“I was so surprised we won, but I do know SHP is always at the top of the list when compared to other schools at UAB regarding dollars given and percent of givers,” said Mary Foster, who accepted the award for SHP (pictured, 2nd from right) and is a member of the 2013-14 Benevolent Fund Council. “I want to personally thank the entire faculty and staff in SHP; their dedication and ongoing participation helped us earn the Super Hero Award again.”
At the luncheon UAB’s Benevolent Fund announced that employees pledged $1,817,144 dollars to this year’s campaign.
