200 Students Compete at Case Competition

1st place - UNC Chapel Hill1st place - UNC Chapel HillThe University of Alabama at Birmingham recently hosted the 8th annual Health Administration Case Competition. The 2014 event, held at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham - Wynfrey Hotel, was attended by more than 200 graduate students from across the United States and Canada.

The winner, for the second year in a row, was the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The UNC trio finished number one after a two-round competition covering a proposal by a hospice care provider looking to expand a cutting-edge "Telecaring" initiative. The Case Competition is designed to be a capstone experience providing students an opportunity to work a real-life, real-time case.

The competition is open to any student that attends a Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) accredited health administration program. The 9th annual Case Competition, to be held once again in Birmingham, is set for February 25 - 27, 2015.
