Darrell E. Burke, Ph.D., is associate professor in the Master of Science in Health Informatics (MSHI) program where courses include leadership and strategy. He also teaches in the Health Services Administration degree programs at the master and doctoral levels.
Prior to UAB he was an Associate Professor in the College of Information at Florida State University where his teaching focused on health informatics, IT, and process improvement. In the health care applied space, Dr. Burke was the Director of Systems and Procedures (health systems engineering) at Mayo Clinic’s Jacksonville Florida Hospital (St. Lukes) a senior health systems engineer, and a home health care IT implementation readiness consultant.
His research focuses on the measurement of IT strategy and factors and outcomes associated with it.
