The “Leading Forward: Navigating Career Success" event, which saw more than 120 people attend, was held at The Florentine (2101 2nd Avenue North, Birmingham) on Friday, October 6, 2017. It featured a "Who's Who" of healthcare executives - including Presidents, CEOs and COOs - and experts from across the Southeast who discussed and answered questions in three critical areas:

  • Leading and Working Across Generational Lines
  • Culturally Conscious Leadership
  • Developing Political Savvy: Hard Work and Talent Are Not Enough

Pat Currie has 36 years experience in Healthcare Administration and is currently the President Central Texas Operations of Baylor Scott & White Health, the largest not for profit healthcare system in Texas. BSWH is the result of a merger between two healthcare organizations each with over 100 years of history, Baylor Healthcare System and Scott & White Healthcare.

Lenetra King is Vice President and Professional Services Officer at Texas Health Harris Methodist Fort Worth, a position she has held since December 2016. Texas Health Fort Worth is a 720 bed regional tertiary/quaternary facility that cares for more stroke patients than any other hospital in the state and is ranked #4 in Texas for acute care hospital discharges. Lenetra leads a division of 600+ employees with annual gross patient service revenues in excess of $1B.

Bob Lynch webBob Lynch, MD, Board Member, PhysIQ and former CEO of Tulane Medical Center

Dr. Robert Lynch is currently on the Board of PhysIQ. The company has developed predictive analytics for the monitoring of patients. Studies using their platform have shown the ability to identify patient changes from their personalized baseline sooner than traditional methods. This offers the potential to intervene sooner and more effectively. He also served as CEO of Tulane University Hospital & Clinic from 2007 until he retired in 2014.

Sylvia Young, a 32-­year veteran of hospital administration, was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of HCA Continental Division and HCA-­‐HealthONE LLC in June 2012. As CEO she oversees nine acute care hospitals; one rehabilitation hospital; 18 ambulatory surgery centers; dozens of physician clinics; 13,000 employees and $2.7 billion in net revenue.
