Rebecca Barnhill Little
Rebecca Barnhill Little is from outside Nashville, TN. She completed her undergraduate at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) in Food and Nutrition with a concentration in Dietetics and minors in Chemistry and Biology. She first came to UAB for her Dietetic Internship and decided to stay to pursue a Masters, and later a PhD, after becoming interested in Oncology Nutrition during her dietetic rotation in Hematology/Oncology at UAB hospital. Her research interests are proper nutrition for cancer patients during treatment and the effects of anticancer treatments and nutrition on the microbiome. In her free time, Rebecca enjoys cooking, baking, trying new restaurants, painting, and doing crafts. She enjoys Birmingham's farmer's markets and locally grown produce because it reminds her of growing up on her family farm and emphasizes consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables in the community. She is an active member of the Campus House Student Ministry and the Birmingham District Dietetic Association (BDDA) and was recognized as the BDDA 2012 Young Dietitian of the Year.
