The courses in the certificate program are designed to provide the student with the tools needed to provide comprehensive intervention to adults with acquired visual impairment from age-related conditions and brain injury. Students learn how to select and administer specific low vision evaluations, provide appropriate interventions, and complete proper documentation.

The first four courses provide the student with the foundational knowledge needed to work with adults with varying levels and types of visual impairment. The final course includes an intensive on campus seminar where students interact in small groups with instructors to ensure they are able to correctly administer and interpret assessments and develop interventions.

A list of courses and their descriptions are available in the SHP catalog.
