UAB's School of Health Professions, home to the Department of Occupational Therapy, is one of the largest of its type in the United States both in terms of enrollment and academic programs offered. It consistently leads the nation in research funding received by schools of health professions.

Members of our low vision occupational therapy faculty include nationally-recognized experts in age-related vision impairment, diabetes self-management, brain injury rehabilitation and starting low vision rehabilitation programs. In addition, our students participate in expert chats with nationally and internationally known experts from the fields of optometry, orientation and mobility, ophthalmology and research.
