For those of you who like the idea of partnering animals and therapy you may want to consider Hand in Paw. Our students have assisted in research for the past two years. It is imperative to have evidence showing the benefits of animals working with and for people.

The UAB OT Department currently is involved in a mixed method research project to collect data on whether or not children in a constraint induced movement therapy program perform better and are more motivated for therapy when a Hand In Paw pet partner team is present compared to when the pet partner team is not present.
